When it comes to macro-photography, nothing else can compare to the
Coolpix 950.
Here are a few shots I took with the camera just minutes after I took it out with the
box. Which happened about one hour ago. I did not have a
tripod handy, so all of these shots are hand-held. Fortunately, the Coolpix
cameras have something called BSS, or "Best Shot Selector", which I used
for several of these pictures. The only other camera setting adjusted was the
"White Balance", which I set to "Fluorescent". No digital
darkroom work
has been done, except for a bit of cropping. (This does affect quality
somewhat,
as the image editor will recompress the JPEG when you save the file)
This is my eye, taken under anything but ideal conditions.
(But it matches my vision at the moment)

Just a dime, all the time.
If you are grossed out by bugs, now is a good time to look away.
The first picture was both cropped and downsized, since it wouldn't fit.
(Don't worry folks... it died a natural death)
That's the macro photos. Now how about some telephoto pictures?
