NIKON COOLPIX 700
Page 5

Well, folks, looks like this might be one of the last Coolpix 700 pages.  You see, I have now acquired the Coolpix 950.  If it works as well as early tests indicate, it's bye-bye 700.  In fact, I already have some of the 950 photos online!  I believe you'll be impressed.

I must say that the Coolpix 700 is an incredible camera.  It is simple and easy to use, yet it has a ton of settings for taking excellent pictures.   It has some advantages over the 950 as well, including battery life, connections, LCD brightness, and door hinges.  In fact, my wife wants to keep it, since she's knows how I am about gadgets.  She figures that she will never get a hold of the 950 unless I get something else to play with.  As the last few days with the 700 indicate, she could very well be correct...

Here are two pictures of a "Soul Window" that I made.   I used matrix metering
for the first, and center-weighted metering for the second.

A dandelion, spreading itself all over my lawn.

Dandelion, no wine

Dang seeds

Could poke your eye out, you know.

This is one of my favorite (non-Sierra) shots.  I used the spotting scope, and took this picture not long after snapping the photo of the street sign on the previous page.  Since it was still pretty light outside, I had to do a bit of digital darkroom work on this picture.  (I decreased the brightness, increased the contrast, and did something to the gamma).  This is the only Coolpix 700 shot that went into the digital darkroom!

One more shot of Sierra, tired of being interrupted while watching Barney.
(This was a long shot, from the kitchen.)

New Albums coming to her pages very soon!

Enough with that dang camera, Dad!
